As stated in the last communication, every precaution is being taken with regards to the spread of the Covid 19 (the coronavirus) in our school environment. We continue to reinforce best practices with hygiene, as well as daily disinfecting of our facility, which includes (but is not limited to) disinfecting desks, doorknobs, handrails, hard surfaces such as tables and bookcases, and door handles.
The Trenton School Board has made the decision to close all Trenton schools this Thursday and Friday to sanitize their buildings. At this time, there is no directive from the NJDOH or the CDC to close any school.
Our Lady of Sorrows will be open and classes will continue on both of these days. On Thursday the middle school trip to Notre Dame High will take place as planned unless we are instructed otherwise. We encourage all students who are feeling well to attend school each day.
As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me or our school nurse, Mrs. Foley. If there are any changes to our schedule, you will be notified immediately.
Mrs. Tuohy

Dear OLS Families, We are monitoring alerts and updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the New Jersey State Department of Health as it pertains to the coronavirus and its spread in the United States. We continue to follow the current guidance posted by the CDC and the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH). Please note, at this time we have no concerns about the virus at Our Lady of Sorrows School. As per the CDC guidelines: we will be reminding students to wash their hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, and to cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or elbow. We are also asking faculty, staff and students who are feeling ill to stay home until they fully recover. Anyone who has a fever of over 100 degrees Fahrenheit should stay home until fever free for 24 hours. We will maintain enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of hard surfaces such as door knobs, desks, and tables tops. As recommended by the CDC and the NJDOH we are making preparations for the possibility that the spread of the virus may lead to high absenteeism or a possible school closure. We have procedures in place to have the teachers add work on the Daily Homework section under the Academics tab to ensure learning continues even if school is closed. We will continue to follow all guidelines set forth by the CDC and NJDOH, and will post updates here on the school website and utilize the School Reach message system if necessary. Thank you for your cooperation.
